How to judge the quality of hot-dip galvanized pipe?
1. Appearance of galvanized pipe fittings
The surface of high-quality galvanized pipe fittings should have a complete coating, uniform transition, and no sagging, dripping or excessive agglomeration on the surface.
2. Thickness of galvanized layer
The thickness of the zinc layer of the galvanized pipe is an important indicator for judging the quality of galvanizing. It is generally expressed in m, and can also be expressed by the weight of galvanized layer per square meter (g/m2). The thickness of the zinc coating can be measured non-destructively with a zinc coating thickness gauge. To measure the weight of the zinc layer, it is necessary to scrape and sample the zinc layer and measure it by chemical methods such as antimony chloride method.
3. Uniformity of galvanized layer
The high-quality galvanized layer has a uniform texture, and there is no leakage or damage after electroplating. The scientific and precise galvanizing process will form a zinc-iron mixed layer of sufficient thickness to improve the adhesion of the zinc layer. The adhesion of the galvanized layer can be monitored by tapping with a rubber mallet. It is better that the coating does not fall off after a certain number of taps.
